The Problem With Zuko  (27,495 words -- PG-13)
Summary: AU: Lu Ten never died at Ba Sing Se, and Fire Lord Iroh rules the nation with an iron fist. Zuko is merely the son of the second prince, overlooked by his more talented younger sister and can only dream of the day when he will be finally allowed to prove himself in battle. When Lu Ten returns, triumphant, with the Avatar and his Water Tribe companions in chains, Zuko is put in charge of their imprisonment. But he soon learns that things are not what they seem with both the child Avatar and within his own family. And soon, Zuko will have a decision to make. How much good can one overlooked nephew to the throne do?
Why I like it:  I managed a complete AU from start to finish while hosting a fest, and it didn't turn out half-bad (if I say so myself). Reading back through it, there are a few things I would change -- key phrases and some elaboration and so forth -- but I still like it. Lu Ten was a blast to write as a flawed character, especially.

Butterfly Day (28,834 words -- NC-17)
Summary: A split in a disturbed mark's mind leads to two different fates for Arthur and Eames. How much difference can a single decision make? (A story where they fall in love, and a story where they don't. But things still just might turn out in the end anyway.)
Why I like it: This was sort of my ode to love for the Inception fandom at the time. I signed up for the Reverse Bang and went nuts with it, writing almost 29k in six weeks. Again, while I think it could be better, it's not half bad. It's sort of a take-off of that movie Sliding Doors, and manages to carry off two separate plots that resolve together at the end. I learned a lot about plotting and writing in the 'real world' vs fantasy worlds like Avatar and Naruto. I haven't looked back.

Inner Vision (4,963 words -- PG-13)
Summary: When Kakashi first began to see people's souls manifested as animals, he naturally assumed he had lost his mind.
Why I like it: This was my first foray into Naruto, and it's still one of my favs. It was so easy to write -- I think I banged it out in, like, a couple of hours. The editing is a little sloppy, but His Dark Materials crossovers are always a blast to write and this was no different.
